Of course not. We here at the Maida Mafia run an equal-opportunity cult, unlike the Mazurites, whose leader has suddenly turned into a Nazi. No, we Maidans love everybody. In fact, everyone at the CM is automatically a member of the Mafia, because why the hell would anybody be here if they didn't worship Raine? They wouldn't, that's why!

Anyhoo, choose a title for yourself, and you're in!

You're in charge of getting Raine to cut his mullet. This is a sacred duty to be entrusted with, so carry it with honor. We will call you the "Mullet Maid".

 love it!!(the title, not the hair!) I wonder when he will finally decide to cut it though!! He looks way better with short hair. and other than just looking better, long-haired raine scares me! the hair makes him look like osmebody you would find on the fBI's most wnated list!

So... the folks at the Coutts Cartel are envisioning what would happen if they ever met Duncan. Great idea. I'm stealing it.

What would happen if Aerin met Raine:

Raine: Hi.
Aerin: *dies*

Yup, that would be it. What about you guys?

Heh, When I met him I told him how bad the show they put on the night before was :freak: wasn't thinking, than he agreed completely and went on saying how he'd refuse to play that venue again and how fucking (he def likes that word) bad the sound and everything was, it was funny. Than he let us know they were going to do it right that night.

CONVERSATION STEALER!!! (lol, beer stealer!!!) BUT ANYWAY!!!

I am SO nervous about meeting them and there's like, not even any concert I'm going to in the near future where this MIGHT happen! As I said on the coutts cartel thread, its not so much Jeremy and Steve I'm nervous about, but RAINE AND DUNCAN!!! My God! Anybody thats in the NY area and happens to be around whenever I meet them, u MUST make sure I don't just die right there!!! I would probably just stand there staring in awe and Raine would look at me waiting for something intelligent to come out of my mouth...at which point, i would shove some CD booklet in his face. then, realizing what i want from him, he would sign it and return it with a "oooo-kay!" kind of look, then move on to the next person!

---hehehe, im listenign to a live version of "theif" and raine messed up the words! he said "as the world IMPLODES, we fall out of it", rather than "as the world EXPLODES, we fall out of it" poor raine! i wonder if when he got to the ACTUAL "as the world implodes, we fall into it" he was like "holy shit, i already said that!"-----

Okay, back to the subject at hand! Yeah, I'm going to need a babysitter whenever I meet them. whoever it happens to be can just kind of speak for me!

You know, I always thought if I was to meet them I would get so nervous and would probley die too. But when I met Raine after Bayfest, I found I had the same reaction when he started to walk over as when I prepare to perform on stage (play, performance with school band, etc.). I tell you, the adrenniline rush I get from the whole stage thing is one of the best feelings in the world (people tell me they get stagefright and I tell them "What's that?") and it made the whole experience just that much more exciting and personal.

Anyway, I'll shut up now...

Haha, I know what would happen if I met Raine:

By some twist of fate, Alana bumps into Raine Maida after an Our Lady Peace concert. She realizes who it is and freezes in place, staring.
Raine: Hey there! Who are you?
Alana: *still frozen in shock*
Raine: I guess you want an autograph, huh? What's your name?
Alana: *hands over CD, still staring at Raine*
Raine: You're kinda shy, aren't you? That's okay, I'll just sign my name. *hands the autograph over* There ya go.
Alana: *still frozen*
Raine: Alright, then. Nice meeting you. *shakes his head and walks away*
Alana (panicking): No! Wait! Raine, come back! PLEASE! Don't leave...
Raine disappears back into the crowd.

Anyway. Someone please give me inspiration for a cool title! I'm all out of ideas. (That's a first.)

Aerin meets Raine, continued

Raine: Hi.
Aerin: *dies*
Raine: Did she just die?
Other fans: *make wide circle around body*
Raine: *grins rakishly* I tend to have that effect on people. So, who wants an autograph?

Anyway, Cryptic, (and what's your name, by the way?), how about being Raine's tie coordinator. Make sure he's supplied with many colorful ties, and encourage him to throw them into the audience now and then.

But feel free to come up with your own title...

Hi, can I join?

I find it much easier to talk to a famous person if I don't have a crush on them. So I'm not quite sure how I'd act around Raine. I think the line "as clumsy as you've been" might come into effect in that situation.

"Hi, I love your voice." Maybe that'll work; hopefully I'll be able to get the words out instead of giggling like I did when meeting someone else who shall remain unidentified.

Alan Doyle. Who hugged me the last time I saw him. And is the snuggliest man alive. And who you're now buying me a plane ticket to go see, Aerin. You promised me in the "person below you" thread.

At the meet and greet before the March Boston GBS show, I giggled and turned bright red by the time I got to his end of the autograph table. I could barely speak. No words wanted to come out. I couldn't look at him either. I was only able to toss off the statement "I love your voice" at the end of the so-called conversation. But I assume he's aware I have a crush on him and that's why he's so nice to me ;)

Anywho, I haven't yet seen OLP live, unless MWOB Live actually was live, and I only saw that on TV. I've only been fan enough to post on the message boards for a few months. They're playing four shows within five hours of me next week, and I don't think I can get to any unless I'm brave enough to join Zipcar and go to Worcester, or go visit my parents and go to Hartford. I don't really want to go to a show if I have to sit way in the back.

The last time OLP was in Boston, I was travelling home from the Barenaked Circus in Toronto. It's bad luck. I love the song "Why Does It Always Rain on Me?" but there's never any Raine. But I always listen to OLP during downpours.
