Creep is a good song and all, but Radiohead has progessed far beyond Creep. I still love the song though. I just happen to find songs like Let Down better.
I faced death. I went in with my arms swinging. But I heard my own breath and had to face that I'm still living. I'm still flesh. I hold on to awful feelings. I'm not dead... My chest still draws breath. I hold it. I'm buoyant. There's no end.

Exactly. Didn't mean to sound too negative with my last post.Good Mourning wrote:Creep is a good song and all, but Radiohead has progessed far beyond Creep. I still love the song though. I just happen to find songs like Let Down better.

Damn, I just started listening to The Bends again.
The first time I heard it I was not impressed. Now that I have listened to it again, I can't understand why I never loved it in the first place. What waswrong with me?
Alan, if you are reading this, you're right, how could I not love songs like High And Dry Its SOO good!
The only one i'm not really into is My iron Lung. ITs meh.

Fake Plastic Trees is the best on The Bends. I will not think otherwise. My Iron Lung is alright, but it's not on the same level as Fake Plastic Trees, High and Dry, or Just. I'm sorry, those songs are better.

tell me why. not to be challenging or condescending, but im curious to know what people see in songs such as fake plastic trees and high and dry (not that i dont love them) that they would pick them over songs like my iron lung and electioneering for instance

Fake plastic trees, IS the best. Simply because slow songs beat a fast song anyday.

Hey, here's a lesson for life. If you want to not come off as a cold bitch towards me, try asking nicely instead of demanding I answer to you.Junkimunki wrote:tell me why. not to be challenging or condescending, but im curious to know what people see in songs such as fake plastic trees and high and dry (not that i dont love them) that they would pick them over songs like my iron lung and electioneering for instance
I personally find those songs much more striking than My Iron Lung. It's all personal preference. Maybe songs like High and Dry and Fake Plastic Trees hit me a lot harder than My Iron Lung. I've been fucked over and left without answers to things that happened to me many times before, and I tend to be able to pick people out that are horrendously fake, and therefore these songs have personal meaning for me. My Iron Lung is good, maybe as good or better than the songs I like to you, but I personally don't care for the song.
Oh yeah, don't read into anything I said Steph, my descriptions of the two songs aren't about you, so don't go ahead and assume that I am still bitter about us. Also, don't see this as me attacking you, because I'm not, I am just giving you the answer you snapped for. Thanks.
Diana, slow songs tend to mean more to people than a typical fast song. More people tend to relate to Are You Sad and find that song absolutely brilliant compared to In Repair or Right Behind You. If AYS was a fast song with simple power chords, do you think people would find the song so touching and amazing? Touching love songs are written to be played slowly, and therefore, the slow guitars with the touching lyrics just work well together.

I understand what you mean... I just often find that faster songs are filled with more energy.. I hate bands that do slow songs without any energy or emotion and make them just plain boring.Steamer Trunk wrote: Diana, slow songs tend to mean more to people than a typical fast song. Fast adds energy and different levels of emotion............slow songs can usually produce a higher level of sadness...........but fast songs present the frenzy of a situation.......they are just different...........
And Junkimunki wasn't being mean to you Steamer Trunk..........your response was pretty harsh...........maybe it was direct.........but didn't seem to contain any offensive tones. I guess you disagree, but I thought your response was pretty rough.
