I think Corey is just furthuring my point and that is that she had no business being there. Its horrible that she died, but it would never have happened if she didn't feel the need to obstruct something that she had no business obstructing. Also as I have stated and I believe reno also that bulldozer is no ordinnary bulldozer!! That thing is Godzilla of bulldozers and the driver could NOT have seen how close she was. I'm sure he figured that she'd be smart enough to stay out from under it!!
No, his job was to bulldoze a building. He was not ordered to run over protestors. The fault is with that particular individual. Not the whole country.hollow minds wrote:Corey just doing your job isn't alright if murder is in your job description.
saying "i killed him but i was just doing my job" is saying " i cannot think for myself and always obey my superiors even when they tell me to act wrongly"

a. it's a bulldozer, it's not like it's moving at excessive speeds.
b. they had been obstructing bulldozers all day without injury. the vehicle can be stopped.
corey
"doing his job" in this case is comitting a war crime, irrespective of whether or not rachel corrie is killed. therefore, the problem is not just with the mindless driver who obeys commands without question, but with the men giving the orders: the israeli government.

it';s not moving very fast, but they are heavy. you have to configure weight into the situation. who's to say the US is paying for this kind of thing? here's a situation for you. these bulldozers are getting paid by their work, if you do not do your job, well you don't get paid. considering that these protesters are taking food off of this guy's dinner table, i'd say he would have acted on his own accord. in this situation, he's acting on his needs, this has nothing to do with the US. furthermore, that resolution said the land that were RECENTLY aquired by the Israel. since it's the 60's this may not apply to the palistinian states. there could be a loop hole here.
Whenever death may surprise us,
let it be welcome
if our battle cry has reached even one receptive ear
and another hand reaches out to take up our arms.
Nobody's gonna miss me, no tears will fall, no ones gonna weap, when i hit that road.
my boots are broken my brain is sore, fer keepin' up with thier little world, i got a heavy load.
gonna leave 'em all just like before, i'm big city bound, your always 17 in your hometown
