TGUK isn't going on tour. They're recording right now.
But, here's another reason why people should listen to Koufax.
I am on TGUK's website, and they have something about Vagrant Records. Here's what it says:
Home to The Get Up Kids and all TGUK related side projects (except Coalesce and Tijuana Crime Scene) since 1999. Also home to Koufax…the best band you’ve never heard.
Listen to Koufax. That is all.

I faced death. I went in with my arms swinging. But I heard my own breath and had to face that I'm still living. I'm still flesh. I hold on to awful feelings. I'm not dead... My chest still draws breath. I hold it. I'm buoyant. There's no end.

Better Than Ezra is going to Lupo's in October sometimes but there's no way I can go..
What I really wanna know is when they're comin out with a new album. They've been touring on the same material for two years >_<...
I don't go to enough concerts.

yes they are. they only play shows to under 100 people.
i saw cursive w/ blood brothers last night. i drove like 2 hours (got lost) by myself to see them since i know no one who likes indie music at my college so far.
blood brothers were pretty bad i dont know what all the hype is, wow you can scream and sing congratulations. the crowd wasnt moving at all for them and they were getting pretty mad. they put a lot into their live show even people werent feeling them.
then cursive came on and well tim kasher does not look what i expected him to look like. he looks more like an old trucker then lead singer of an indie/emo band. The coolest thing is Gretta sits on her chair and sways with the cello like Raine does with his mic stand but it looks much cooler with a cello. They rocked out pretty hard just played the jams and not much else. Played an awesome version of Recluse, the marty, lament of a pretty baby, art is hard, sink to the beat, red handed slight of hand, closed with gentleman caller which rocked hard time. dont remember rest of the songs. worth the $9.

really? when they played here there were at least 2-300 people, about average for a club show. plus they're on vagrant, which is well-known for an indie label. anyway, they're a great band.areusad831 wrote:yes they are. they only play shows to under 100 people.
don't look now, just keep watching the TV hating what's too see waiting for someone to say something that's right.

the blood brothers' initial fanbase doesn't consist of mopey emo kids, so that's why no one was into them. this wasn't their tour, people go off to the blood brothers at their own shows. but yeah, you're not into that genre so i can see why you'd think it's bad.areusad831 wrote:blood brothers were pretty bad i dont know what all the hype is, wow you can scream and sing congratulations. the crowd wasnt moving at all for them and they were getting pretty mad. they put a lot into their live show even people werent feeling them.

how do you know what genre i listen too? i just didnt think they were that great musically. they put on a good live show and i would be moshing and stuff if other people actually moved.

I just saw Interpol. Oh my Jeebus, it was stupendous.
First off, I must say that The Stills are damn catchy and I definitely want to see them when they play here again. They put on such a great set.
Interpol blew me away. I figured they would be boring as hell, but I was so into them. I don't know why, but their music made me insanely happy and want to move around, so white boy started dancing again, and it was good. The lead singer of Interpol kept staring at me though, which kind of creeped me out, but whatever, he played the music that made me dance, so be it.

Nope, those aren't hardcore enough either, Rob. Try again. See, the whole point of being a cool indie rock kid is to name off bands that no one's ever heard of, and for all we know, don't even exist. If you were smart, you'd stop listening to the bands you like and strictly listen to foreign bands, mostly from Sweden, and go to record stores and name drop these bands as much as possible, even if you don't like them, just so you're that much more indie. Don't you know anything about the scene?
