okay, I realize alot of you feel OLP sold put by going mainstream etc. I can see your points of view etc, but I think some of you are over reacting.
First off BOB as a certain sound he brings out in people he works with. This guy has made millions producing.
I love Gravity. yes there are some songs that sound like things out there, but if you really listen closely you can hear *older* olp sounds on it. I think their first cd's brought them to this point. I think this CD is a great thing for them >The songs are amazing live and it looks like they are having a great time with them. Then again I will always support OLP as long as I feel they aren't compormising their integerity as a band. i don't think they are doing that here. Besides who really cares if they are selling more cd's. I think it would be frustrating for them to constantly tour and relase CD's here in the states, yet are still in most part unheard of. I for one welcome the change. Change is good for the soul.
BTW, here are some CD's/Songs BOB has worked on.
Eight Arms to Hold You-Veruca Salt
BLACK ALBUM/ LOAD-Metallica
Permanent vacation-Aerosmith
Sonic Temple-The Cult
AMerican High Fi-Debut
Slippery when wet/new jersey(enginer) Keep the faith-Bon Jovi
this guy knows what he is doing and if he could pull this out of OLP, more power to him
I hardly think OLP would release something they weren't 100% happy with.

^Isn't that exactly what he did with Metallica; brought them into the mainstream.

People, how do you know OLP will "sell out?" The cd has been out for a good 3 days, and we don't even know if it made a dent in the billboard charts or not. If the little girls don't buy the cd, they didn't sell out. We shouldn't freak out becuase one song is getting big, because it can easily be forgotten. If you people want OLP to yourselves, I would worry more about the cd going quadrupile platinum before I would worry about one song becoming relatively popular. Honestly, I wouldn't mind OLP goin huge, because I've never seen them at a large venue, but maybe that's just me....
I faced death. I went in with my arms swinging. But I heard my own breath and had to face that I'm still living. I'm still flesh. I hold on to awful feelings. I'm not dead... My chest still draws breath. I hold it. I'm buoyant. There's no end.

All things pass and all things come to an end, as well. If Our Lady Peace never makes another good album, I'll still be able to enjoy the albums that I do have. Someday it's gotta end, and you'll have to let it go.

i dont think olp have sold out completely or anything, and i dont think that if SOT is huge or that if teenyboppers (or w/e theyre called) buy the cd, they're sell outs. teenyboppers have always been around ever since clumsy. i use the term "sell out" if the music sounds like its trying to appeal to a bigger audience then what the band already has, and that you could hear the difference. and unfortunatly, i see SoMe of that in gravity. but even if i see some of that in gravity, it doesnt mean the music sucks.

"The white dove is gone, the one world has come down hard, so why not share the pain of our problems, when all around are wrong ways, when all around is hurt, i'll roll up in an odd shape and wait, untill the tide has turned.....with anger, i'm dead weight, i'm anchored"- IME, God Rocket (Into the Heart of Las Vegas) ^ Some say this song is about a terrorists thoughts before 911
