Listening to Duncan's bass lines has really changed the way I listen to OLP.. seriously! I used to only really listen to vocals and guitar, but now I hear Dunc's basslines and they blow me away, especially in songs like IAH. Anyone payed close attention to Duncan in the vid? He's off the freaking wall. I'm trying to learn that and OMA, and they're insane.
Just because I am sexy, naked, a bassist, and sporting a top hat doesn't make me Duncan Coutts!

Don't I know. I've officially stop taking my OLP CDs into my bass lessions because my bass teacher just can't do it. (Can't bring in any Sloan either for the same reason. Damn that Chris Murphy...damn him to Hell!... ... ... I can't stay mad at him... )

Teacher doesn't like Sloan? I love Sloan.
Chris' stuff doesn't seems that complicated compared to Duncan's riffs.

Murph's stuff can be quite difficult. Songs like She Says What She Means he just goes off and does his own thing and he rarely does the same thing twice. It's hard to get it down pat if you want to learn the song the way it's heard. (Personally, I'm just fine with the chords (and then I can fill in my own little punk thing later on - I love playing punk!), but Gary, my teacher, basically insists he teach it to me the right way.)
Anyway, back to this: Duncan rulz!

well, duncan is now in last(well, second to last, technically) place on the little poll thing. LoL, I think steve has gained popularity since raine started molesting him during the birdman!
