OLP New Song "Not Afraid"

I've finally got hold of Not Afraid from the Junos. And while I still love the song I didn't enjoy it as much as when they played it live over here. I'm not sure why - maybe just because I wasn't there to see it. Live and louder it really is amazing (and with Mike doing stuff on guitar too). And I think Raine's lyrics were better before too - but he was changing them every night so they'll probably change again before it makes it onto an album (if it does). They actually recorded Not Afraid a week or two before coming over to Europe so there must be a studio version of it somewhere. I'd love to hear that.

Does anybody else hear think this song may be about Mike (Turner) ? If you look at the lyrics closely, you might see what I mean. Also, the song is almost undoubtedly about new beginnings and being "not afraid" of them, so the Mike theory is possible.

At at least one of the shows Raine said that Not Afraid was against war.

i know i am going to have large, heavy objects thrown at my head for this, but...am i the only one that thinks the beginning of not afraid and the beginning of spin by lifehouse sound eerily similar?

Hmm, you know, ever since I heard Not Afraid (which I frigging LOVE and STILL can't stop listening to), I thought it sounded like another song. Lemme compare it with Spin real quick. *listens to mp3s* Hmm... nah... it's a little similar, I suppose, but not that much.

not the entire song, just the first verse thing has the same style. i compared them too, and its not like their the same song, as not enough is much slower beats. i guess its just the way they both use their voices to go up and down at the same time.
