Friends...

I seem to have a problem where i can only have at school friends. I just entered high school last week. I rarely do things with friends outside of school. It really sucks. But i just have a problem talking with some people. I'm not really shy, just not talkative.

School takes up so much of your time that it isnt surprising. As long as you make an effort you can stay in touch with friends that go somewhere else, lots of people do it! Talk on the computer more or make a point to call people randomly. I find that since you have been away from each other for a while you have all kinds of stories to tell. Most people are closer with the friends they go to school with - but thats not to say that you cant have a life outside of school.

Nah, I'm just kidding. It's hard to make friends man, but all I can say is, if you find people that like you for you, and you enjoy being around them, then call them and make a big effort to be their friend. They are so worth it...if you can keep them.

i know what you're talking about. i've really felt that way before. however, i've noticed that with these things, patience is key. you've really just got to wait and let things happen. you need to focus on your friends, and think about developing something worthwhile with them, rather than focussing on what you would like to be doing on a friday evening, because that will come eventually. remember, one foot in front of the other.

anyway, that's just how i work.

my problem is, every time i get close to a friend, if she's a girl, i end up fucking them. its not happy.

me too bro, me definitely too......I got seasons 1-9 and I can't get enough of the stuff.

When I was in junior high, I was so freakin quiet I had a circle of about 6 friends at school, and then had local friends in my town that I did stuff with everyday.
I think moving to NY and having to make ALL new friends changed me, now I'm open as can be and I never freakin shut up.

i have a good group of friends except one problem........i share almost NOTHING in common with alot of them, from Style-Music-Ideals-Personality, i can't talk to many of them about many issues that matter to me, they're all either Prepish or Thug dressing and find my rockware (similar to raine or steve) dumb. But the thing that bugs me teh most is most of them hate most of music, not just olp but all Alt rock in general, and tthey even act like i'm a loser for liking it or that i've been sadly misguided..........i never have anyone to go to concerts with, luckily i converted one into a pretty big olp fan, to bad he doesn't like any other good music

PS i'm also a aspiring guitarist and would love to be friends with some of the other music community in my school but it's so late (gr. 12) and i'm a fairly shy guy, i would kill to be able to jam with someone........i'm even thinking of getting my brother into bass or drums cause he's heavily influenced by my tastes

Well, I'm in the exact opposite situation, I have a good group of friends who all love the same type of music, clothes and stuff...and i love them all so much and wouldn't trade them for the world...except in a weird way I envy your situation, because you seem to have a group of friends who bring alot of different personalities and ideas into a group. They can introduce you to new things.

My group of friends is a little wierd...

There is of cource Josh, which you all know

Between him and i is our other best friend Liisa. She is an aspiring artist who can be easily upset. Then we have other people who are good friends but are nothing like us. These people include Amanda, Jenn, Becky, and Nikole. Nikole i have grown attached to because we have known eachother for soo long. But when it comes down to it we are completely different people.

I also have this big problem, because we are graduating this year, and i really want to take Nikole to the "prom". I kinda have a girl friend though. Its been this huge debate going on in my head for like two weeks. It only seems right to take nikole, but thats kinda wrong when you have a girlfriend.

I really am lost as to what to do!

The other problem with taking nikole, is well

She had a crush on me from grade 5-8 and i always shot her down. I made a really good effort to be good friends and nice to her. I am not sure if this ended up causing her more or less pain. In high school we again bonded and have this really great friendship. She is the only person i actually call any more (including my girlfriend which i really only talk on msn to and see at school). Nikole is this great person who has been suporting me to do the things i do, for as long as i can remember.

Another note i should add, is Nikole is bestfriends with my girlfriend. Taking nikole to the prom (if she said yes) could possible break their friendship.

I think you need to take your girlfriend to the prom. Unless it's ok with her that you take your friend.
