my department at the university had it's christmas party tonight. i hate coming home from social events and thinking about how stupid i must have looked. i was enjoying a conversation with a prof, and she said something about how she didn't want to corner me if i wanted to go talk to the grad students . . . i said no, and kept talking. only now do i realize that maybe she was trying to go talk to other people. and now i'm going to have trouble sleeping because i'll be worrying about it

maybe, but i doubt it (she's pretty popular in the department--that's why i wonder if she was just too nice to tell me to bug off). at least other people came and joined our conversation.

i'm probably thinking about it too much. i hope i'm thinking about it too much.
